Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the province has seen cumulative investments of 20.3 billion yuan in inland waterway infrastructure development. As a result, the province now boasts 514 kilometers of newly upgraded navigable waterways at Level IV or higher, bringing the total to 1,515 kilometers. Additionally, seven new 1,000-ton-class berths have been added, increasing the total to 60. The region’s container handling capacity has also expanded by 680,000 TEUs, reaching a combined total of 2.33 million TEUs.
Luzhou Port has emerged as one of China’s key inland ports, equipped with the capacity to handle over one million TEUs and seamlessly integrating rail, road, and water transport. Meanwhile, Yibin Port has been developed into a comprehensive facility capable of handling containers, roll-on/roll-off cargo, and heavy-lift shipments. Meanwhile, Nanchong Port, Guangyuan Port, and Guang'an Port have all begun operations.
Meanwhile, cooperation under the Ministry of Transport’s “2+2” framework continues to deepen, further strengthening regional connectivity and development.

With the growth of the energy-saving and environmental protection industry, global companies are continuously innovating technologies to maximize energy efficiency. As a result, energy-saving technologies are steadily advancing. Below is a recent summary of both domestic and international advancements.
Hunan has successfully completed China’s first hydrogen peroxide-to-propylene oxide (PO) plant. This key project under Sinopec’s “Ten Dragons” initiative marks a significant milestone: China’s first domestically developed hydrogen peroxide-to-PO unit was officially put into operation at the Changling Refining & Chemical Complex in Hunan. The facility is designed with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons, and once operational, it is expected to generate annual sales revenue exceeding 1.1 billion yuan.
Propylene oxide, widely used in industries such as chemicals, agrochemicals, textiles, and personal care products, serves as a crucial foundational chemical feedstock. The plant employs an innovative direct oxidation process using hydrogen peroxide to produce propylene oxide.

New Advances in China's Export of Steel Metallurgy Equipment Technology
The Belt and Road Initiative will provide significant development opportunities for Chinese steel enterprises looking to "go global." As China's national economy, along with its steel and machinery industries, has experienced rapid growth, the country has made remarkable progress in areas such as steel plant design, equipment manufacturing, construction, and production technologies. This has laid a solid foundation for China's exports of advanced steelmaking and metallurgical equipment, leading to numerous new advancements. However, challenges remain—such as a relative lack of innovation (with few domestically developed equipment or technologies), as well as certain短板 (e.g., while China excels in blast furnaces, coke ovens, sintering, and pelletizing processes, it lags behind in large-scale steelmaking and rolling equipment). Additionally, management issues persist, including disorganized competition among domestic companies vying for overseas projects.
